Latest Kali Linux Problems And How To Solve Them

Problem 1 : fix audio issue on kali linux

This is what worked for me, I had this issues in Kali 2016.2.

Open Terminal

Copy and Paste this command

systemctl –user enable pulseaudio && systemctl –user start pulseaudio

You may need to reboot

Problem 2 : Kali Linux: Fix “Unable to locate package”

you must find the file sources.list

open terminal

leafpad /etc/apt/sources.list

and replace with this
# deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 _Kali_ – Official Snapshot i386 LIVE/INSTALL $
# deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 _Kali_ – Official Snapshot i386 LIVE/INSTALL $
## Security updates
deb http://http.kali.org/ /kali main contrib non-free
deb http://http.kali.org/ /wheezy main contrib non-free
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-dev main contrib non-free
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-dev main/debian-installer
deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali-dev main contrib non-free
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali main contrib non-free
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali main/debian-installer
deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali main contrib non-free
deb http://security.kali.org/kali-security kali/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://security.kali.org/kali-security kali/updates main contrib non-fr$

save and close the file

after that in open terminal Copy and Paste these commands

apt-get clean

apt-get update

apt-get -f install

Problem 3 : Kali Linux isn’t able to display what’s in “Other Locations”

I guess it happened because I made some changes in dconf

Here are steps I did and the issue was resolved

1.Open dconf Editor
Go to org»gnome»file-roller» then in each sub catagory , double click on every entries on right side and select “use default value”
Do the same for org»gnome»nautilus

2.Open terminal
Type

apt-get update
apt-get install file-roller
apt-get install nautilus

3.Reboot!
